Understory Design is a full-service design firm founded by Mimi Hock based in Chapel Hill, NC.

After working in commercial real estate in the Triangle area for the last seven years, and completing many personal commercial and residential renovation projects, Mimi segued into the design field, establishing Understory Design in 2020. Inspired by worldwide travel, nature, and art, Mimi collaborates with clients to create refined interiors that enhance the everyday lived experience.
